Sometimes a blow to the face or a hard fall can actually knock one of your teeth out of the socket. This is even more likely if you participate in contact sports or other vigorous activities without having proper protection from a mouthguard. If there are any remnants of the tooth left in the socket after it has been knocked out of place, your Classic Smiles dentist might need to completely extract them.

After your gums have completely healed following extraction, we can replace the knocked-out tooth with a dental bridge in Ocoee, Florida.

A bridge is designed to appear and function just like the natural tooth. It is fused to a pair of dental crowns and those crowns are anchored to the two neighboring teeth the lie on both sides of the gap in your smile.

Dr. Susanne Baaqee will shape the two anchoring teeth by removing the majority of the enamel layer. Your dentist will leave a small amount of enamel to protect the healthy interior of the teeth.

Then, our Classic Smiles team will create a detailed impression of the smile. The impression will be sent to the dental lab where your permanent bridge will be made. At the end of the appointment, your dentist will secure temporary crowns atop each anchoring tooth to protect them while the lab technicians work on your permanent bridge.

Once the dental lab has completed your bridge, we will call you back in for a brief second appointment. During this appointment, the temporary crowns will be removed and your new bridge will be cemented in place.

If one of your teeth has just been knocked out, please call our Classic Smiles team today at 407-293-3002 to schedule an appointment.
